Who is Michael Johnson and why Mexico City
Michael Johnson is a celebrity hair stylist from New York City. He was born in Long Beach, California and raised in Chicago, Illinois. As a teenager, Michael began cutting hair for friends in high school. It was at this early age he realized his love for hair. In 1989 Michael attended Pivot Point Hair School in Chicago. Upon graduating he knew his next move was to relocate to New York City to pursue a career in the beauty industry. His career in hair took off when he was chosen to assist Frederic Fekkai, full time, both in the salon and on photo shoots. After a few years of working in the salon, Michael decided to branch out on his own. In the years following, Michael built his career traveling the world working with several Fashion and Beauty Magazines, Celebrities and Advertising campaigns.
After 30 years working in Fashion and Beauty, Michael envisioned opening a salon and building his brand. Michael has chosen Mexico City for his first salon location. Having spent much time there, Michael fell in love with the city’s culture and passion for the arts, fashion and beauty. Michael spent one week a month in Mexico City for a few years. He now lives there full time and the salon is in Polanco. “My cuts are designed to look good 7 days a week. Whether it’s salon styled or styled at home I want my clients to look fabulous!
